Rentfrow, Incorporated's Hydro Mite Landing Gear Strut Service Stand, Model HM-GT1-C, is the fastest and most cost-efficient strut servicing tool in the world. Hydro Mite service stands are self-contained, towable units for quickly servicing single, dual, and multi-chambered struts with fluid and nitrogen without jacking the aircraft. Current production models entered service in 1984, and
since then, thousands of aircraft struts of all types have been serviced
with Hydro Mite, and millions of dollars have been saved. Rapid logistical
and technical support is available 24 hours. Operators' field experience is
excellent, and high utilization rates continue to be reported.
Using the Hydro Mite Landing Gear Strut Service Stand:
-
Commercial and military customers routinely perform complete strut servicing on a single chambered nose or main landing gear in five (5) minutes or less. This is a task normally requiring two to four man-hours.
-
Commercial customers routinely perform complete strut servicing on a dual or multi-chambered main landing gear in 10-15 minutes. This is a task normally requiring 8-10 man-hours.
-
In 1999, we introduced a new model service stand for rapidly servicing the Airbus Series A319, A320, A321 landing gear shock struts without the requirement of jacking the aircraft. This innovation will also save thousands of man-hours in the commercial fleet.
-
In 1995, we developed and published the first Hydro Mite procedure for servicing Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules landing
gear
struts without the necessity of jacking the aircraft. Our method is fast, safe, clean, and to date, has saved thousands of military man-hours.
-
C-130 compatibility tests were conducted on Hydro Mite at
several Air Force bases in
the United States, and Lockheed Martin published results showing the use of the Hydro Mite lowers the actual man-hours required for fully servicing C-130 struts from the standard 64 hours to 2.5 hours per airplane for the complete job (these hours included towing time). Actual time for Hydro Mite servicing is 1.5 hours or less.
Hydro Mite is listed in the Lockheed Martin Hercules Illustrated Support Equipment Manual, SMP 515E, Boeing Aircraft Catalogs, and Douglas Aircraft Catalogs as ground support equipment for strut servicing.
Hydro Mite is featured in Lockheed Service News, Vol. 21, No. 4, October-December 1994 Article, Landing Gear Strut Servicing Made Easy With The Hydro Mite Stand, and U.S. Navy Approach Mech Magazine, May-June 1996 Article, A Neat Fix for a Messy Job.
